What is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a skilled and controlled system of care for the body to the use of plant oils such as essential oils distilled from flowers, plants and trees, roots, seeds, bark, grasses, herbs, etc., with the aim of Alleviation of pain, hair care, care for the skin and to alleviate tension and fatigue, in other words a form of healing through a chemical effect on the body. In some parts of the world, these essential oils to be taken internally as well. There are many essences - lavender, jasmine, chamomile and peppermint, rosemary - just to name a few. The common methods of use of these oils are by adding to the bathtub, they can be directly inhaled, massaged through the skin, with tea or other liquids, cooking with herbs, in a diffuser etc.

A word of caution < /P> perfume oils, also known as fragrance oils containing chemicals, unnatural do not have the same therapeutic effect as the essential oils and are sometimes sold as aromatherapy products. It is therefore important that on the label to learn what the ingredients are before making a purchase. You have to be careful and very selective when buying your essential oils. It is always better to pay more and buy from a reputable company like you are guaranteed for quality rather than buying from an unknown source, as it could be diluted and not pure.

It must also bear in mind that essential oils are highly concentrated and if they are not used properly and carefully it could be harmful. If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask your doctor or even a well-trained and qualified person who deals with aromatherapy.

Some points are to keep an eye:

. With the exception of lavender and tea tree, other undiluted essential oils should not be used on the skin. However, it is very important to note that the use of undiluted lavender and tea tree, should only be left to experienced practitioners aromatherapy and the application of this also should be done only very rarely, as the use of undiluted oils can be cause problems in some individuals.

. Generally, essential oils are not to be taken internally But unless your doctor should be managed internally.

. It is advisable, always a skin patch to test whether the oil for the first time and more if your skin is very sensitive. The skin patch test done by a small amount of oil undiluted on the inner elbow area and keeping it there for a period of approximately one day and see if there is a reaction. If there is no reaction, then it would be safe to go and use of the oil.

. It is best if you avoid, essential oils, if you have a health condition or if you have asthma, or if you suffer from epileptic fits, and it should be avoided if you are pregnant.

. The essential oils should be used sparingly and only the specified quantity.

. Keep all essential oils out of the reach of children.

. Most Essential oils are a potential fire hazard as they are highly flammable. They should therefore be properly stored.
